1.   Cape Kaliakra




The castle on the cape is one of the most important and breath taking show places that you can ever see. Kaliakra is a long and narrow cape located in South Dobruja, a region of the northern Bulgarian Black Sea coast, situated 12 km east of Kavarna and 60 km northeast of Varna. The coast is steep with vertical cliffs that reach 70 m down to the sea. From the top of the cape there is an amazing view to the sea where dolphins and cormorants can be observed.

 


 

2.   Shabla 



 

Cape Shabla is the eastern most point of Bulgaria, and on it is situated the oldest lighthouse of Europe. The lighthouse is important because there are many rocks in the area and with its help, the ships managed to navigate better even in the past. Along the Shabla, however, there are still many shipwrecks, making it a popular place for scuba diving. 



3.   Saint Anastasia Island 



The island of St. Anastasia has an area of about 9 acres and is located in the Burgas Bay, about 7 kilometers from the city of Burgas. Its height reaches 17 meters. It is built of volcanic rocks. The island is associated with many legends and traditions.

There is a restaurant with authentic Burgas dishes, a bakery, herbs, and a Monastery. The island can be reached by boat from the Pier in the Sea Garden.

There is a possibility to spend the night in a Monastery cell from the Middle Ages.

 



4.   The Ravadinovo Castle




The castle is located 3 km from Sozopol, near the village of Ravadinovo, and is open for visits. The unique architectural creation covers an area of 20 acres. The castle has a park, a lake with swans and a chapel, which is under construction. It is not yet fully completed. Once you cross the entrance to the complex, you will find yourself in a parallel world. Peacocks roam freely, and the air is saturated with the aroma of herbs and flowers, which are abundant here. The high towers of the castle, overgrown with ivy, will make you remember the tales of the Brothers Grimm.

 



5.   Old City of Nessebar



The Old city of Nessebar is a UNESCO World Heritage site and its fortresses are of architectural and historical significance. Many of them have been rebuilt several times. The oldest fortresses are from the 5th century BC. and were built only of stone blocks by the ancient Greeks. In the old city of Nessebar you can find a lot of typical street shops and restaurants with delicious food and great assortments of Bulgarian souvenirs.
